Market and economic value

Safe Investment

Investing in agricultural land will always be a good business option, as its equity value does not decrease and if, in addition, it is planted with one of the most profitable crops today, its value increases from the activity and guarantees the investment.

Fast return on investment

This culture guarantees a rapid recovery of the initial investment, thanks to the high yield per kg/ha and to the market price of almonds that has been maintained in recent years.

Taking into account that the almond tree can live and produce more than 20 years and the return period of the investment is between 5 and 7 years, there are years ahead to obtain significant benefits.

Consumption and production

Mediterranean climate

The Mediterranean climate, characterized by its mild and rainy winters, hot and dry summers, is the most suitable for growing almond trees.

In few areas of the world do we find these idyllic conditions for its development, such as Spain and Portugal, western North America, southwestern Australia… where this culture is intensely produced.

Spain and Portugal are among the main producers of almonds due to their excellent endogenous conditions.

Spain is the second largest producer of almonds in the world by area, behind the United States, the latter obtained very low yields from traditional plantations around 371.6 kg/ha.

Mechanical Harvest

The appearance of increasingly innovative machinery allows us to harvest at the right moment of maturity so as not to damage the skin of the fruit and in the fastest, most economical way and with the least possible damage to the tree. This aspect, together with irrigation, represent the most important advances in the evolution of almond cultivation.

In our plantations, the economic viability of almond cultivation would not be possible without mechanized harvesting. A good harvest must be anticipated and taken into account when planting and adapting the trees so that the machines work correctly at the time.

The biggest revolution in almond cultivation is super intensive due to its greater efficiency in both economic and environmental terms.

The growing world consumption of almonds far exceeds its production, the price is directly affected and the trend is upward.

Demand and consumption in the world

The great demand for nuts, more specifically for almonds, compared to the previous decade, heralds very good prospects for the coming years for the sector, which has evolved progressively.

A growing demand in consumption due to its healthy benefits, its different forms of roasted presentation, mixed with other nuts, in the industry for the production of many traditional sweets, etc.

The largest consumer in the world is the EU, and the current production is not enough, so it is forced to import, the same goes for countries with large populations such as China, India and Japan.

The forecast in the medium and long term is that demand will continue to grow and exceed supply. The reports underline that, despite the investment in these crops, consumption continues to increase and is far from meeting demand, so the sale of this product is assured.

Uses and advantages

The most common gastronomic use is found in desserts and pastries, but let's not forget the large number of salty recipes accompanied by this slightly bitter and dry flavor of almonds, increasingly appreciated in vegetarian diets as a superfood.

Almonds oil

Almonds are also used to make cosmetic and skin care products, such as perfumes and moisturizing oils. The properties to highlight in the use are the healing and anti-inflammatory effects of almond oil.

Nutritional Value

Regular consumption of almonds brings numerous health benefits due to its high content of vitamins, especially B and E, minerals such as phosphorus, different types of beneficial vegetable fats, many proteins that reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, balances the cholesterol, pressure, the energetic contribution that it gives to the body, either physically or intellectually, favors the strengthening of bones. And many others that we could highlight.

Almond Milk

In recent years, the consumption of almond milk has become popular as a substitute for cow's milk.

Almond milk and orchata are known as nutritious beverages in a wide variety of countries.

Among the benefits of almond milk is the contribution of a significant amount of calories, free of unnecessary fatty acids for the body, high protein content, but without lactose, a large amount of fiber that facilitates digestion.

It is not only used for consumption, it can also be used for skin care.
