- The new owners will give continuity to the project and will maintain the staff currently working at the farm located in Alentejo (Portugal).
Bolschare Group, a company specialized in the management of agricultural assets, will be in charge of managing the farm that the Martinavarro and Ballester families have just sold in Portugal to an investor whose identity has not been disclosed. It is a 700-hectare plot of land with mandarin, almond and olive groves.
The new owners will give continuity to the project and will maintain the staff currently working at the farm located in Alentejo (Portugal). This has been decided by the international investor associated with Bolschare Group, according to sources familiar with the transaction.
The sale of this farm represents the exit from the Portuguese market by Grupo Agrihold, which is the company owned by the Martinavarro and Ballester families. These families are the founders of Citri&CO, a Spanish company specialized in the production of citrus, melon, watermelon and stone fruit.
With this operation, Bolschare continues to add projects to its portfolio. In March last year, it also took over the management of Borges’ agricultural division, which the Natural Capital Fund – its partner – had bought in a transaction valued at between 70 and 80 million euros.
At that time, the extension was around 1,900 hectares of cultivation spread over 14 properties. Almonds, walnuts and pistachios were produced in the regions of Badajoz, Granada and Alentejo (Portugal).
