Bolschare Group, dedicated to the management of agricultural, energy and medical assets, has signed a collaboration agreement with Natac (NAT), a biotechnology company specialized in the production of sustainable plant extracts with health benefits, to promote the research and production of aromatic plants on its farms.
The agreement, signed by Ignacio Schmolling, president of Bolschare, and Antonio Delgado, CEO of Natac, includes the planting of several botanical varieties in 2,000 hectares in Extremadura and other parts of the Iberian Peninsula.
The B-Lab Research Center, which belongs to the Bolschare Group and is focused on scientific research to promote the development of different industries, will play a leading role in the project. Under the signed agreement, its R&D center will promote research on the development of plantations in order to improve their quality.
The president of the Bolschare Group, Ignacio Schmolling, has celebrated the signing of an agreement that he considers could be highly beneficial in sustainable terms. “It means taking a decisive step in the company’s commitment to a sector with a growing demand in our country. We seek to maximize the performance of our farms, taking advantage of unused spaces to enhance the promotion of the circular economy and the responsible cultivation of a high-value natural asset,” he said.
On the other hand, Antonio Delgado, CEO of Natac, has highlighted that “this alliance will allow us to have quality raw material for the development of our vegetable extracts in the Hervás plant. As a company committed to the application of circular bioeconomy in our business model, we always look suppliers that guarantee quality, traceability and sustainability”.
